A forensic pathologist does most of the work in the crime lab. A medical examiner, or any other person sent to dod the job, goes to the crime scene to and first examines the place of crime then examines the body and collects evidence. The evaluation of the scene helps the medical examiner find the location of the body. The medical examiner must look closely to see if there was any foul play, and must be ready for any kind of crime scene she may come across.

Equipment and Instruments in A Forensic Crime Lab

These are some equipment used in forensic labs. One piece of equipment that they use is a genetic analyzer. A genetic analyzer is used for the analysis of DNA evidence. They also use a GC/MS, which stands for Gas Chromatograph (GC) and Mass Spectrmeter (MS), which is used for controlled substance analysis. They also just use a GC, for alcohol analysis, microscope, autopsy table, etc.
